Runecrafting training

This page details the optimal training methods for levelling up Runecrafting.

Levelling up Runecrafting grants access to both passive benefits as well as unlocking spells and other abilities. Every level increases the attunement phase duration of Runecrafting by 0.6%, up to a maximum of 58.8% at level 99.

The Method section does not include any experience boosts.

This section is split into two; one for gathering the rune essences, the second for training.

Tools:

• Pickaxe – Your main tool to gather rune essences

Trinkets:

• Unholy symbol – +15% more damage on rune essence rocks
• Amulet of glory – +25% more damage on rune essence rocks

Armour Slots:

• Mage armour hat and/or body – as it grants a -50% Stamina Regen Delay for a single piece equipped, and it is lighter than melee armour while retaining high defensive bonuses
  • Although it is not mentioned in the table above, the suggested equipment can be replaced by any of their equivalent(s) (e.g., infinity armour = Lunar Garou armour). See this for a complete list.
• Leggings of lightness – Increases the player's maximum carry weight by 50 and reduces the amount of fall damage the player takes

Food & potions perks:

• Fleet-footed infusion – Reduces the stamina cost of sprinting by 50%

• Utility:
  • Vault cores, rune essences, and stones – Essential materials kept on hand (or inside Personal chest spell) to construct lodestones for fast travel.
  • Food – to manage sustenance and healing
  • Infusions – to manage hydration
  • Weapons – to defend yourself from hostile enemies
• Runes:
  • Earth, Fire to cast the spell mentioned below;

Rocksplosion

Conjure a powerful blast to break apart stone boulders and ore, including rune essences.

Trinket

• Inspiring ring of Runecrafting – +5% experience boost in Runecrafting

Food & potions perks:

• Knowledgable Nourishment – Increases the player's experience gain in all skills by 10%
• Focused Runecrafting – Increases the experience gained when training the Runecrafting skill by 15%
• Focused Runecrafting II – Increases the experience gained when training the Runecrafting skill by 30%

*Perks: Food perks do NOT stack. Eating another food after consuming a different one overrides its perk(s) with the most recent food eaten. Potions behave like this as well; drinking a new potion will immediately overwrite your active potion buff. While players cannot layer multiple foods or multiple potions, one potion + one food perks can be stacked together simultaneously.

Air rune is the first craftable rune unlocked.

Astral runes.

Earth runes.

Fire runes.

Nature runes.

The final available rune to craft is the law rune at level 50.

Players can expect to use approximatively ~13,000 rune essences to achieve level 99 from level 50 with law runes if these conditions are respected:

• Focused Runecrafting potion +30% XP
• Inspiring ring of Runecrafting +5% XP
• Knowledgable Nourishment + 10% XP
• 50 rune essences per attunement
• Perfect attunement every time

Players can except about ~3754 XP per 50 rune essences and 500 law runes if these conditions are met

If the players does not use any experience boosting items, they can expect to use ~19,000 rune essences from level 50 to 99 and get about ~2500 XP per perfect attunement.

In theory*, by using the Runes to Rune Essence spell on runes, then its upgrade at level 81 (giving back 40% then 60% of the rune essences), players would only need:

• ~5630 rune essences from level 50 to 99 with boosts
• ~8470 rune essences from level 50 to 99 without boosts

*As of right now, the spell seems to be bugged and gives random amounts of Rune Essences back.
