Vis cloth is not the most comfortable material to wear. It's waxy, leaving a thin magical residue on the skin when worn. Wizards have compared it to skinning and wearing a giant slug, which isn't the best of adverts. They have complained about peeling it from their skin after a day of magical combat. If you're a hirsute magical user, you should be warned that it can rip a layer of hair from you whenever you use it. The wizards of Ashenfall's past may have had long beards, but you can be sure that there wasn't a scrap of hair on the rest of their bodies.
