All that glitters is gold, is factually inaccurate but a fun song lyric. However, golden armour is most certainly glittering. Forged from gold bars, melted down and refined into plate armour, there are few who can deny the sheer audaciousness of an outfit like this.

The second person to wear gold armour was knight commander Sir Leigh, who donned the glittering monstrosity out of misplaced loyalty to his liege. His belief was that at least he could act as a decoy for those that would aim straight for the king. He had attempted to coopt other knights to don similar garb, but the expense of such equipment grew too costly to attempt it.
