The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

Holly Arnuld was buried with a Master Wand on her chest and her hand clasping it. Her last wishes, found in her desk, made it clear that the wand was to be placed as close to her heart as possible. A few other preparations were to be made, like the timing of the funeral, and her closest companions made them.

As Holly was lowered into the ground at her funeral, her friends, fellow teachers and class raised their wands to the sky. It was respectful and somber, as was Brynmoor tradition.

Just as the congregation was looking to disperse, the coffin shook, and the seams around the lid brightened. The coffin blew open and a flurry of fire spells exploded from the Master Wand. A nearby tree was set alight. Students had to use their jackets to stamp out fires on the lawn. Everyone claimed to hear cackling from the coffin, yet - when a brave teacher stooped over to have a look - Holly was still in repose, blackened a little with soot.

It turned out that Holly was buried with a magical mechanism on her chest, timed to trigger at the end of the funeral. The cackling was the whirring and sputtering of the mechanism. The machine acted as a catalyst for the wand, and - well - you know the rest.
