The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

Brynmoor's School of Magic was little more than scattered rubble. There is very little as flammable as a wizards' school, thick as it is with books, potions and staves.

Rescue parties saved who and what they could, but seven casualties were tallied. They were mostly wizards whose luck had run out, who were practicing spells that left them incapacitated. They were in the midst of astral projection or alterations of the mind when the fire swept through.

Under the rubble, however, the rescue parties found something unusual. There was a room that wasn't on any plans, located beneath Arnuld's Sanctum. It wasn't particularly large: only a handful of wizards could have stood upright within it. But in that room was a plaque, lacquered to protect it from fire. On it was written "You have passed my trial. I have underestimated my fellow wizards. Take what is earned - Holly Arnuld".

On the walls, around the plaque, was row upon row of wands. Splitbark and maple wands in their hundreds.
