Commander Zilyana is a character who appears alongside the Scorned Wilderness.^[1]

Zilyana is a icyene from Hallow who arrived in Gielinor near the end of the God Wars, as one of Saradomin's finest warriors, giving her the rank of Commander. During the war, she led the forces of Saradomin, even participating in the battle of Annakarl, defending it from Zamorak's forces. She fought against their commander, K'ril Tsutsaroth, but was overpowered by the demon, mortally wounded and left for dead. Saradomin arrived to her aid and teleported her to a secret location, where he keeps the Stone of Jas. With it, Saradomin healed her so she could continue to fight under his name.

Sometime after the battle, Saradomin dispatches her with several soldiers to the Temple of Lost Ancients to assist a flock of aviansie that were delivering the blade of the Godsword and were pinned by Zamorakian forces. Arriving at the temple, the Armadyleans, led by Kree'arra, were assisted by her and Bandosians led by General Graardor. Although an alliance was formed after the sword was shattered to prevent K'ril from obtaining it, Zilyana would spy on all three sides, using amulets she received to listen in on their plans and manipulate the battle in her favour, although this did not last long. While all four sides began to fight each other, one of Guthix's guardian, with several other druids, would cast a powerful spell to freeze the four factions, imprisoning the icyene in there.

During the late Fifth Age, the prison thawed out, and the armies would continue to fight; Zilyana would continue her attempt to reclaim the sword pieces for Saradomin. Although sometime later, she learns that god of wisdom was evicted from Gielinor by the god of balance and could not return due to the Edicts of Guthix. But this would soon change when Guthix's resting place was discovered; she was amongst the factions' leaders to head there to slay Guthix. Despite failing to kill the god, as that deed was stolen by Sliske, Saradomin was still able to return, leaving the resting place with Zilyana to start planning for the return of other gods. In the Sixth Age, Zilyana was tasked with doing other things, but she remained as the commander of Saradomin's forces, even escorting him to Sliske's Grand Ascension, the finale of his contest, and assisting in the defence against the Elder Gods.

When the Edict of Guthix was re-established by the World Guardian and their allies, Saradomin appointed Adrasteia, his daughter, as his successor to the Saradominist kingdoms. Despite disagreeing with this, she accepted it after seeing the wisdom in his choice, remaining in Falador to ensure her safety.

During her time on the mainland, Zilyana received guidance from Saradomin to head to Ashenfall and seek aid in stopping Kuldra's attempt to destroy the world.

• Her appearance is a strong mixture of her two appearances in RuneScape and Old School RuneScape.
  • The RuneScape influences are her hair colour being orange with white lines, blue attire having a Saradomin symbol, and her Saradomin Sword.
  • The Old School RuneScape influences are the hairstyle, her wings being a blue gradient and having only one pair of wings, whereas in RuneScape, she has two pairs. The metal plating on her shoulder and boots and she uses her iconic shield instead of a buckler.
  • The RuneScape: Dragonwilds unique appearance is the metal armor around her arm and her hip. In RuneScape, they are leather, while in Old School RuneScape it is not completely covering her arms.
    • Another unique addition is the chest, having another metal plating, with a Saradomin symbol on it.
  • In the trailer, she is missing her shield.
