There is something about the swamps of Ashenfall that encourage strange trees to grow. The result is Blightwood; durable, powerful and somehow capable of channelling more potent magic than other trees.
The Wild Knights joked that Blightwood houses the souls of the victims of the swamp, and that they are imbued with their regrets and hatred.
