When the Dreaming Stone shattered, the aftershocks were felt just by humans. Demons were affected too, if anything, their reaction were more unpredictable.
For some, it was like a connection snapping - a hard reset. It was as if a controlling force had been removed from them; a marionette falling to the group.
For others, it was a fury. So much ash was tossed to the wind. A subset of that group gathered the shards for themselves, and they fought others for their stockpiles.
