Most chickens are perfectly normal, content to live happy lives consuming seeds, insects and anything else that comes their way. Their eggs provide the means to create some of the most delicious recipes, and their meat sustains many a weary adventurer on those cold Ashenfall nights.

But not all chickens are so innocent. Once a generation, beneath the blood moon, a chick will hatch that knows nothing but malice. Consumed with a desire to corrupt and destroy, these creatures grow powerful on concentrated hate. Many fireside stories speak of the evil chicken and the lives they have destroyed. To keep this threat at bay, farmers traditionally prevent any egg from hatching if it gives them the heebie-jeebies.
