Sir Lear was a White Knight Paladin that discovered the potential of the iron mace. He used the mace to crush goblin warriors, druids, and thanes. With the iron mace, Sir Lear was a symbol of Saradomin as he battled on with other Paladins and other White Knights.[1]
Later on, Sir Lear joined Vemmeck, the Wild Knight commander, with his army of goblins to conquer a northern garou stronghold at Ghornfell. With this alliance, the three factions were nearly successful in defeating the garou settlement; a garou druid kept their forces at bay. Sir Lear quickly realised that his iron mace was ineffective when he and the other two factions were facing a dragon; the scales of the dragon were too mighty for the mace.[2]
